The foremost thing to do is to analyze the question
and understand exactly what is asked. For this you should reframe the question
in your own words using synonyms. If the topic or the question is something
like “Capital punishment must be banned” write your views for or against the statement.
Some people believe it could be used for severe crimes. Discuss both views and
state you opinion.
Here it is possible to use synonyms in your opening sentence

be something like “ it is a commonly held belief that the death penalty is a
draconian method ,and is barbaric in the modern society” . However, there is an
opposite argument that the more
despicable crimes are, the more severe the punishments should be. The next
thing to do is to give your opinion on the subject in order to give the
examiner an overview of what is to be expected in your essay. There is no right
or wrong answer in the IELTS essay. The examiner is only interested in your
English.
Step 2: Support your opinion

to be innocent. You can use the phrase like “Exploitation of Justice” to
express the idea.

point. This will give the examiner an impression that your writing is balanced
and it is a good sign of an IELTS essay. You can start your paragraph with
